Overview

This is a 12 month contract for Supply Chain Manager, to cover a leave of absence. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and implementing a supply strategy that delivers the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through world class service.

Task Descriptions:

  • Lead the existing procurement team for G3 Systems ensuring best practice is employed across the business.
  • Responsible for the warehouse function at G3 Systems with dotted line responsibility to warehouse functions in overseas locations. This to include goods receipt and despatch and the stores functions.
  • Lead negotiation of pricing from G3 Systems approved suppliers to ensure value for money and to enable G3 Systems to establish a competitive advantage in tendering for new opportunities.
  • Ensure that Purchasing is undertaken from approved vendors to provide the best value and delivery to meet stated requirements
  • Delivery of service that meets the Quality standards set by the Company.
  • Liaise closely with QSHE and Group Managers to monitor the quality and effectiveness of suppliers’ performance and assist in maintaining an accurate and effective Vendor Rating system.
  • Work with the Business Development and Design functions to develop new supplier relationships in order to meet contractual obligations and the future aspirations of G3 Systems.
  • Review G3 Systems existing policies and procedures to ensure that they are fit for purpose, reflect current industry trends and are proportionate to the work being undertaken. Where they are not the postholder should recommend change and drive that through into the business.
  • Review and refine existing reporting metrics indicating, as a minimum, work level, value, efficiency and effectiveness of Procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with process, governance and controls in line with the Integrated Management System

Qualifications:

Qualifications Required:

  • CIPS Qualified
  • 5+ years in a Procurement or Supply Chain related management role
  • Knowledge of procurement systems and infrastructure.
  • Proven contract negotiation skills.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience in:
  • Structuring, negotiating and closing procurement agreements
  • Procurement management in relevant industries
  • Experience in Procurement and Contract risk management
  • Working with financial information and is aware of financial impact on contracts & projects
  • Management of warehouse functions including receipt and despatch and stores.
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK import and export controls and licence management
  • Experience team manager preferably with cross functional responsibility (eg Proc and Stores)
  • Proficient user of MS Office applications
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Proactive, professional and responsive to customer/team needs
  • Ability to quickly build good relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
