Sales Engineer

A leading developer of optical devices is now seeking a Sales Engineer to increase their sales network.

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting time to join a rapidly growing start-up, where you will be responsible for developing new customers, increasing new business sales, along with managing new and existing distributors.

The role would suit someone who enjoys new business development, who is happy identifying new business leads and nurturing new customer relationships.

Your main focus will be on the expansion and development of market share in the US and Canada, through direct selling and also distributor management.

We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background, who is familiar with photonics and optics to sell my client’s products into Research applications, OEMs for light sources and optical instruments.

With your experience to date in the photonics and optics sector, you should be able to see how the products can be applied and how modules can be sold into customer projects. Therefore, you will need to understand my client’s technology and have a network of potential customers in Photonics industry.

Experience:

To succeed as Sales Engineer, you will have at least 5 years’ experience of optical and or semiconductor device sales.

You should be familiar with optical device characterisation, and have worked in both R&D and manufacturing environments.

Qualifications:

As the successful Sales Engineer, in addition to your commercial experience, you will hold a relevant Degree or higher in a related Engineering, Photonics / Optics or similar field.

Additional Information:

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Copies of Passports and Visas will be requested for verification purposes.

Candidates must hold a full clean UK driving licence and have their own vehicle.
