Our client, an industry leading and worldwide know plastics manufacturer are actively recruiting for a number of vacancies as outlined below;
1 x Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Days 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm Mon to Fri)
1 x Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Days 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm Mon to Fri)
1 x Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Lates 1pm-10pm Mon to Thur)
1 x Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Lates 1pm-10pm Mon to Thur)
THE ROLE
Routine maintenance
Carry out routine maintenance of all machinery, processes, equipment and services.
Assess and recommend maintenance tasks for new and improved equipment and services on site where required.
Help assess the quality of maintenance tasks carried out by production teams.
Breakdown maintenance
Attend breakdowns and make necessary repairs in a safe and timely manner.
Report work completed to department supervisors/managers.
Complete 5 why analysis of breakdowns.
Fault repairs
Repair machinery, processes, equipment and services as directed by your supervisor to bring it back to its functional state.
Report work completed to department supervisors/managers
Identify repeat faults and suggest improvements.
Improvements and Tooling
Carry out improvements to machinery, processes, equipment and services based on information supplied from maintenance, engineering and production supervisors.
Fabricate and repair tooling, fixtures and Jigs as required.
Fabricate and assemble machinery and equipment as required
Train production operators in standard routine tasks as agreed with maintenance, engineering and production supervisors.
General
Record spare parts used so replacements can be ordered.
Ensure that the areas under your control are kept clean and tidy.
Train and develop operators and apprentices in maintenance activities.
Any other general tasks as requested by the Chief engineer.
Record daily activities completed for KPI’s.
Attend daily PCS meetings in production areas as required.
Conversant with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Understands and employs correct isolation techniques and aware of safety obligations.
Logical problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of machine construction techniques.
Able to read engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
Flexible and able to respond to occasional unusual working hours and weekends.
Use Milling and turning to produce spare parts as requested.
Strong fabrication skills.
Formal training/apprenticeship.
Carry out maintenance tasks using appropriate design, machining, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and other appropriate skills. This may involve accessing hard to reach parts of machines, or the use of ladders and other access equipment so a level of agility is required.
Work in a safe and suitable manner. Some parts of machinery may be heavy or awkward, so care must be taken when moving them, dynamically assessing any lifting operations and employing handling equipment as necessary. Extra care must be taken to ensure that all machinery is safe to maintain before starting work.
Ability to work well in a team and also on your own.
Salary on offer is between £30-40k DOE and depending on opted shift
