Information Governance Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for an Information Governance Manager to join our team based in Gilwell Park in London. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £43,064 per annum.
The Information Governance Manager role:
The purpose of the role is to support The Scout Association’s Data Protection Officer, implementing operational frameworks to ensure compliance with all data protection and privacy legislation as well as management of any applicable Information Security standards.
What will you be doing as our Information Governance Manager?
Playing a key role in the on-going development and implementation of a data and privacy strategy with the Data Protection Officer and the Governance and Legal teams
Work closely with the Data Protection Officer to help maintain Data Privacy Legislation Compliance (GDPR/DPA 2018)
Maintain the Scouts ISO 27001 standard, including the management of the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
Govern, manage and audit the lifecycle of the organisation’s Information Security and Data Privacy Policies
Act as a change agent by working with Data Process Owners and other key stakeholders
Ensure that all training requirements for the Data Protection Champions are met and owning the group membership.
Coordinating all planned Data Protection actions to ensure timely and effective execution
Keeping oversight of and having primary responsibility for dealing with all requests from data subjects
Integrate and develop the Data Subject Access Request process
Act as first port of call within the organisation for data protection and privacy queries
Manage the Information Governance Group meetings and ongoing development.
Implement assurance processes as agreed by the Information Governance Group
Manage and maintain the Records of Processing Activities
Manage and maintain all Data Privacy Impact Assessments.
What we are looking for in our Information Governance Manager?
Demonstrable experience in implementing governance frameworks in previous roles
Working knowledge of the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 and ISO 27001/2.
Ability to work with IT and Information Security teams to align data protection principles and privacy to technology best practices.
Ability to explain the key data protection and privacy concepts to non-experts.
Ability to influence at all levels in the organisation and able to develop and build strong relationships with people of different business and technical backgrounds.
Strong communication skills are essential in their engagement with all company stakeholders to maintain a high level of data privacy awareness
Ability to work with the business and IT stakeholders to embed data governance roles and responsibilities.
