Overview

Cidon are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our existing team, working on groundworks and reinforced concrete structures packages in the building and civil engineering sectors.We have some exciting projects and frameworks in the pipeline to enhance our steady growth and strong presence in the industry.

Based from our regional office Skelmersdale, you will be working on projects varying in value from £5m to £30m. You will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates from first principles within the necessary time constraints, along with leading the target price review process and implementing contract feedback.

Responsibilities:
Able to produce accurate quotations from drawings & specifications and submit tender returns
Prepare rates for each item within the BOQ from first principles
Measuring & Taking-Off quantities from drawings
Liaise with Senior Management and obtain their input into tenders, offers and proposals.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors at tender stage to obtain the most competitive prices ensuring firm quotes are received for significant materials and subcontract items to support the best net estimate
Run multiple projects at any one time at different stages, including cost plan, design feasibility, competitive tender
Requesting further information from Client / Design Team and arrange meetings if required
Attend pre and post contract reviews and client meetings
Hand over successful tenders to the construction team
Identify opportunities

Experience :
Minimum 3 years experience in Groundworks and / or reinforced concrete structures is essential
Experience in the conversion of tender submissions for projects up to £30m
Excellent construction technology knowledge
Ability to communicate effectively and work on own initiative

Location :
Candidate to be located within commutable distance of our regional office in Skelmersdale.Visits to our Head Office in Barnsley will also be required from time to time.
