Assay Development Scientist
We have partnered with one of the most exciting UK biotech start-ups, based in Oxford.
My client has recently been through an acquisition and is continuing to expand their team as they are looking to commercialise their technology as quickly as possible.
We are seeking an Assay Development Scientist to work on some of the most innovative technology related to cancer biomarker detection.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working on the design, development and commercialisation of NGS assays and clinical workflows.
Responsibilities: Assay Development Scientist
Design, development and testing of assay reagents and workflows.
The ability to manage several projects at any given time
Supporting the identification and evaluation of emerging assay technologies to maintain cutting-edge capabilities.
Contributing to the preparation of internal & external reports, presentations, publications, and applications as required
Skills & Experience: Assay Development Scientist
Specific knowledge of NGS assays, including targeted DNA and methylation sequencing (not essential)
Experience of a variety of molecular biology techniques/methods.
A PhD or MSc in a relevant scientific field
If you happen to have a track record of successful RUO or IVD product development, it will put you at a competitive advantage. The team are multidisciplinary and any knowledge of bioinformatics/computational biology would also be advantageous, but not essential
