Our Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) is a specialist team, undertaking mechanical and electronic rework, repairs and dismantling on behalf of major motor manufacturers, including Jaguar and Land Rover.
Our Vehicle Technicians are responsible for the rework of JLR Engineering Fleet vehicles, which includes a full vehicle inspection, identifying all prototype and pre-production parts to be replaced and any other parts requiring replacement, general service work and Pathfinder Diagnostics.
They liaise with JLR Engineers and report the work that is required, gain JLR authorisation to proceed and order all relevant parts, before completing the required repair work.
This is an interesting and exciting position that will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work with the latest JLR vehicles and technology, working within a friendly, motivated team.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out full inspection of JLR engineering fleet vehicles, completing a 38-Point check list
- Identify and list all pre-production and prototype parts and damaged or substandard parts that require replacement (full training will be provided)
- Identify any service work, factory recalls and RIS reworks
- Liaise with JLR Engineers to report all documented work required, obtain authorisation to proceed with work and order the required parts
- Replace all parts and carry out authorised work
- Carry out full diagnostic checks on completed vehicles, ensuring that the vehicle is fault free
- Final road test of vehicles
What we need from you:
- Full driving licence
- Fully qualified, experienced Technician
- To be able to deliver a consistently high standard of work
- Strong technical ability
- Enthusiastic to learn new technology.
- Highly motivated and adaptable
- Great communication skills
- Team and customer focused
- JLR product/diagnostic knowledge would be an advantage, although not essential
