We are currently looking for a VDA Audit & Compliance Specialist to join our Vehicle Engineering Team, based at our office in Bedford.

Our Engineering team provide the Insurance and Fleet supply chain with a variety of vehicle assessment/inspection products. Our flexible, bespoke reporting system incorporates industry leading products and software and our Engineers are highly qualified to IAEA AQP, IMI VDA and/or IAEA standard.

Our services give the Client control over the claim with a ‘one-stop’ solution for cost control, collection, valuation, categorisation, settlement and remarketing of vehicle salvage.

This role has responsibility for the vehicle engineering regional teams training and auditing process, ensuring the consistent delivery of high levels of internal and external customer service, that will enable increasing levels of profitability from day-to-day vehicle engineering activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that Engineering reports are provided accurately and in accordance with recognised industry standards
  • Awareness of terms of specific contracts between Copart and its Clients and the relationship relating to repair costs and market values, ensuring that the team are adhering to these terms
  • Ensuring that all teammates are advising salvage categories appropriately, within the framework of the ‘ABI Code of Practice’ with consideration of Copart’s guidelines, aims & objectives
  • Continually helping to deliver an improving Customer Experience, both internally and externally, providing appropriate training interventions
  • Constantly reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of individual team members and the team, through appropriate KPIs and other indicators
  • Providing effective training and guidance to the regional team members
  • Identifying training needs through regular monthly audits, to support team achievement
  • Assisting the Regional Manager with setting individual goals that support the delivery of objectives for the Vehicle Engineering team
  • Assist in the upkeep of the Engineering Best Practice Guide
  • Ensure full understanding of engineering product set
  • Work with external trainers, assisting with outsourced training for team

What skills you need to have:

Essential

  • Evidence of working in support of continuous improvement and delivering high performance standards
  • The ability to demonstrate a dynamic, energetic and motivational training and auditing style
  • Great problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, including working knowledge of estimating tools and systems and must be competent using Microsoft Office
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Great attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work within timescales and to deliver in line with SLA’s
  • Experience of motor vehicles, familiarity with all types of damage and repair methods
  • Experienced with insurance claims procedures and information requirements relating to claim types
  • Knowledge of basic legal vehicle road worthiness requirements under Road Traffic Act.
  • Membership of, or willing to enrol to membership of, industry related professional bodies such as M.I.M.I, I.A.E.A or I.R.T.E.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of operating at supervisory level
  • Proven experience in a vehicle engineering, office based role
