Utilities Mechanical Operative

Our client based in Purfleet; Essex is seeking a Utilities Mechanical Operative, the role is offered as a permanent, full time shift position.

Shift times: 6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am, including weekends.

The role is working 12-hour day and night shifts on a pre planned annual rota.

Salary: £42,808 pa inclusive of annual shift allowance

Job Purpose:

The Utilities Mechanical Operator is responsible for monitoring the wastewater treatment plant and making sure all compliance limits are achieved.

They are responsible for power generation and Steam production in the CHP plant.

They will provide mechanical service and support for emergency breakdowns and other mechanical duties out of hours.

They will also be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the department following a GMP schedule.

They will be required to supervise contractors when necessary.

They will be responsible for entering and closing work orders using Maximo.

Utilities Mechanical Operator – skills required:

Computer literate

Able to carryout physical work

Ideally educated to C&G or BTEC in mechanical engineering or a relevant subject

Ideally 3 years relevant work experience

Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS)

Water treatment plant knowledge
