Love tractors, tinkering with tractors, restoring tractors, fixing tractors? Are you a farmer or farm hand looking for a change in focus to becoming a tractor mechanic? Are you a tractor mechanic?
As a passionate Tractor Mechanic, or even mechanic who loves tractors we have a great opportunity for you in Devizes. This company are the market leaders with 16 branches and yet still have a family feel to the business. They import and sell brand new and second hand, high specification self-propelled crop sprayers, sugar beet harvesters, combines and tractors.
As a Tractor Mechanic you will be joining a busy team of around 8 Service Engineers/ mechanics. The tractor mechanics set up and personalise new machinery before delivery to the customer. Then go on to service and maintain that equipment as it is used and loved over the years.
Tractor Mechanics are also responsible for:
* Overhaul and repair of second-hand machines
* Finding any faults, ensuring that they are reported and rectified
* Servicing of agricultural machinery
* Dealing with any warranty claims and ensuring that any paperwork relating to the claim is completed in the correct fashion
The Tractor Mechanics split their time between the workshop and on site on the farms.
As the successful applicant, you will have a working knowledge of fixing big machinery, if not farm machinery then working on busses or HGV’s or heavy plant.
This is a permanent position and the working hours will be 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on a Friday. During busy periods (normally around Feb – March and Sept to Oct) there is loads of over time opportunities and this pays really well.
You will be rewarded with a great hourly that can be negotiated depending on your experience. Any overtime worked will be at a time and a half and double time.
