The Client & Role | Who Are They?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a cracking business that has built a reputation for quality and machine capability in the sub contract precision engineering market. They have carved a specific niche within the oil and gas sector over the years and worked with some of the biggest names in equipment and component supply. Now shifting focus to look at medical and renewable sectors, whilst retaining its core of oil and gas customers, they are wanting to recruit a new role to support growth in the sales function.

The Candidate | What Are We Looking For?

The position of Technical Sales Engineer has 2 main functions. To develop estimates and proposals for customer drawings and to support the external sales team, be that market research and possible customer identification or developing technical documentation to support the marketing effort. This role will have close customer contact.

To be considered you should have:

* Experience with CNC machining (milling and turning) to include machine operation and process routes.

* Experience of interpreting customer technical drawing and working with the customer to nail the specification.

* Experience of drafting proposals and estimates using your engineering and precision machining expertise.

This is small business with a family feel but benefits from being part of a larger group, meaning you can have close ties with your team and feel more than just a number, yet have access to all the training and development you’d associate with a larger corporate.
