Support Worker

I am looking for Elderly support workers who live within a commutable distance of Chelmsford/Braintree .

I am currently recruiting for an Elderly care home which require 24 hour support to vulnerable adult, which have range from dementia, learning disabilities, sensory impairment and physical disabilities.

Due to the Tier 4 restrictions you cannot work in any other role or care home because of the current isolation situation this will be forthcoming until Covid has finished. Being fully available is essential and any involvement in any other homes or roles is forbidden.

The primary aim of the role is to engage, and support people with gaining the resources they need to become independent and contributing members of the community. Due to their age, a lot of these elderly people present challenging situations at times and require support workers who are experienced with engaging and managing challenging behaviours.

We are looking for support workers who are passionate about their roles and understand the importance of their contribution towards a vulnerable persons future. Support workers who are driven to nurture and support young people to gain the skills they need to become independent. We want support workers who take pride in supporting people overcome barriers and obstacles and help with the overall development of independence of young people.

The shift patterns are as follows

Early 7am-2:30pm

late 2pm-9:30pm

Please bear in mind, for work you will need to be flexible for this work.

An active DBS that is on the update service is required

Mandatory training certificates completed and in date

Right to work in the UK, include an in date Passport, Visa and/or Biometrics

Working as a support worker for Elderly, your role is essentially to promote independence within a safe and supportive environment. Your role will include the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and will also require you to work with multi agency teams, such as the police, probation services, allied healthcare professionals, social workers and more.

The support worker is required to record observations of the elderly daily activities, behaviours and other important information that is required for the following person on shift.

It is key that the candidate has experience in using a hoist
