Software Systems Engineer

Rugeley – hybrid 2 days in the office

Up to 50k

Responsibilities:

  • Working as a member of the Systems team to:Design, develop and deploy Industrial IoT and MES solutions across various industrial sectors, using our partner’s industrial software platforms (Microsoft, GE and PTC)
  • Develop software plugins using common languages to fill gaps within product-based solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects and project components, liaising with other project team members or customers as required.
  • Ensure all project outputs meet customer requirements in terms of both function and form
  • Use UX principles to ensure User Interface development follows defined standards
  • Ensure project lifecycles meet the company’s ISO standards, including 9001 and 27001, by following defined project development procedures and completing documentation to a high standard
  • Build strong customer relationships to further the business goals

  • Relevant experience:Experience implementing solutions using common high-level languages (JavaScript is essential. C# advantageous)
  • Experience with web technologies and architectures
  • Experience with the development and administration of relational databases (such as SQL Server and/or Postgres)
  • An understanding of cloud platforms, such as Azure, would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in the development and configuration of SCADA systems would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated skills and understanding of the configuration and development of software and IT based infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of networking and communication technologies
  • Appreciation of industrial systems and environments is not essential, but would be advantageous

  • Qualifications:Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree
  • A Levels or equivalent in subjects such as Mathematics,
  • Physics, Computing, English and Design & Technology
  • Relevant Microsoft Certification(s) would be advantageous

  • Other:Unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • Living within a 45-minute commute of WS15 1UW
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Hybrid working with office taking priority when required
