We are now looking for a Shift Engineer to come in on a major contract based within Slough to offer a top level Building Services engineering function on a high profile critical site (Data centre).

The customer are an expanding service provider with aspirations of working with the largest IT organisations in the world, we as the FM provider are treated as integral to this journey, and customer priority is to retain their current work, meaning this is a secure role with a chance to develop and grow.

Reporting to the Shift Leader, across the 12 hour shift your actions will include:

  • To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated electrical systems.
  • To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the electrical aspects of the PPM and plant.
  • Carry out technical surveys of the above services and systems, reporting findings to the Engineering Services Manager (ESM). Producing list costs of material required for any minor works required.
  • To co-ordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client. Dealing with customer enquiries and complaints, reporting actions taken to line management.
  • Electrical fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
  • Carry out minor installation work to the above services and systems.
  • Repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems.
  • To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with electrical aspects of the PPM schedules. Surveying and accepting new works carried out by specialist sub-contractors.
