Job description:We are currently recruiting for a Service Technician to join our Team based in Coventry on a full time and permanent basis. They will carry out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms to on portfolio lift/escalator equipment and be responsible for completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards. They will also oversee improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift equipmentdowntime. Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components.The successful candidate must adhere to allcompany safety and conduct procedures and Provide coverage by an on call rota for out of hours calls, maintenance and repairs.Duties & Responsibilities:Carry out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement ofcomponents and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc)To rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.Check the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance, checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise,temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipmentCarry out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstatelift/escalator and complete service documentationCarrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manualsand appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use ofwritten or graphical informationCarry out site surveys and attend all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skillsWork in accordance with the Companys Safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, as well as setting a personalexample of safe behaviour.Contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their directProfile description:Candidate Requirements:Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferredQualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalentWillingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 RedAdvanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipmentAdvanced problem-solving skillsThe ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficienciesThe ability to work independently with a flexible approachGood communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors)Manual dexterity – Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operatevarious hand and power tools and to record written informationProven fault finding and diagnostic skills.Good administration skills and punctualityFull UK driving LicenseJBRP1_UKTJ
