Senior Project Manager

My client is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to join their ever growing business. They are about to record another record breaking year for turnover and are also on course to become a £1bn turnover contractor by 2023. Family run with over 65 years experience within the construction industry, they have projects ranging across all sectors and with a wide array clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the project team and manage the supply chain to deliver project to time, cost and quality targets and standards
Ensure safety targets and standards are maintained by:
Knowing what safety excellence looks like and communicating safety with passion and
credibility, in order to inspire, motivate and lead the project team to achieve the vision
Fostering a continuous improvement culture by actively seeking input from all members of
the project team and encouraging them to implement safety improvements
Ensure sustainability targets and standards are achieved by:
Actively engaging with the customer to understand and deliver their key sustainability
objectives
Promoting Sustainable Solutions around all operations.
Ensure that project plans and schedules are robust and optimise project resources and timescales and are communicated effectively to the project team
Manage commercial and business risk to achieve targets
Understand the relevant Contract terms and conditions for each project
Proactively manage the customer relationship during delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations
Manage external consultants (e.g. design) to enable delivery – driving value, customer focus and achievement of the project's objectives
Ensure the Company and Divisional procedures and policies are followed by the relevant teams, i.e. the Business Management System, including the Process Operating Model
Ensure effective records are maintained and kept for project delivery and regularly report on project progress, risks and issues to senior management
Lead, manage and deliver operational excellence and efficiency through:
Appropriate use of leadership indicator health check reviews through the Bid, Pre
construction and Construction phases of the project
Ensuring rigorous monthly project improvement processes are in place
Thorough implementation of planning, risk, project controls and change controls
Ensuring Lean Visual daily management meetings are carried out to drive project performance – Utilisation of specialist Lean skills to improve productivity, performance and safety of projects
Implementation of best practice commercial management
Experience of a similar role in a relatable field preferably Civils
