Senior Payroll Advisor

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Senior Payroll Advisor to work in Suffolk. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying from £14.02 – £17.51 per hour (paid to you either via an umbrella company or PAYE).

As the Senior Payroll Advisor, you will report to the Payroll Manager. Your role will be to provide a proactive, efficient and effective payroll service to Suffolk County Council, clients and their employees, which is accurate, timely and complies with the relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Have a good working knowledge of statutory legislation covering payroll administration.

Organise and manage the payroll cycles.

Undertake a full range of varied and complex duties within SCC's frameworks and policies.

Manage workload priorities to meet tight payroll deadlines.

Manage data imports, salary sacrifice schemes, auto enrolment including reenrollment, RTI submissions (FPS/EPS/EYU) and the lease car process.

Assist the Payroll Manager with P11d and other statutory yearend requirements.

Oversee service updates and improvements in relation to the Payroll system / software as and when required ensuring statutory and contractual obligations are accurately met.

Be a point of escalation for the team and be instrumental in the resolution of high-level queries.

Be able to cover other payroll team members in their absence to maintain service delivery, to include but not limited to; journals, invoicing and pay-overs.

Support and encourage the team to develop to their highest potential.

Develop a customer centred approach where we are actively looking for appropriate and workable solutions to support the organisation in delivering its goals and priorities.

Utilise advisory and guidance skills to persuade others to adopt/follow policies, procedures and processes, coupled with the ability to negotiate with a wide range of customers in difficult situations.

Maximise available technology, intelligently and in a way that adds value to both customers and HR.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: A relevant professional qualification at level 4 (or working towards) or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and references covering the last 3 years.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
