Job Description

We are looking for exceptional candidates to join our growing Data Engineering team at Merkle. Successful candidates will understand modern data platform architecture, have experience with software development best practices and have solved complex technical problems to deliver to clients’ requirements. You will be a competent team player, developing straightforward solutions that are scalable, utilizing appropriate technologies and engineering best practices.

The post holder will:

  • Design and develop great data solutions for our clients
  • Work closely with local leadership as well as our global teams, bringing their key industry and product expertise and knowledge, to shape and deliver client solutions.
  • Support our Data Scientists and Analytical Consultants working on projects
  • Provide technical expertise and consultancy to clients to help them understand the power of big data analytics for their organization

Qualifications

  • Experience developing production quality software using optimised code, repeatable and reusable techniques (python preferred)
  • Experience using modern DevOps practices such as version control, CI/CD, Automation, Infrastructure as Code, testing, Docker
  • Experience developing solutions in the cloud (Google Cloud or Azure)
  • A strong understanding of modern data processing concepts and their implementation: data lake patterns, data structures, databases, SQL, no-SQL and partitioning.
  • Strong project Management and organisation skills
  • Proficiency working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent communication skills, able to cut across complexity to concisely and clearly convey status and actions required.
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and colleagues via email, Teams, and where appropriate, in person.
