As the Robotics Technologist you will be involved in serious, hands-on science and engineering that is breaking technology boundaries in clinical and surgical sciences and other areas such as medical devices, life sciences, scientific instrumentation, industrial machines & processes.

The Robotics Technologist (Surgical Roboticist / Robotic Systems Engineer) will:

Apply hands-on physical science combined with life sciences insight to analyse & develop viable solutions to challenging real-world technical problems
Identify and research new 'blue-sky' technologies for possible commercial exploitation
Be part of international multi-disciplinary product development teams
Design experimental apparatus and conduct proof-of-principle experiments
Develop prototypes involving elements of electronics, optics, mechanics, materials etc
Present results and findings to clients, peers and colleagues.

To be considered for this role you require the following:

Degree (BEng/BSc/MEng/MPhys/MSci ) 2.1 or above and /or a Doctorate PhD, EngD, DPhil in Physics, Engineering or closely related discipline.
Broad knowledge of physics from first principals coupled with a highly practical "hands on" approach to experimental physics and engineering including an intuitive understanding of how physics affects real world processes and products
Strong analytical and mathematical ability with the curiosity and ability to analyse a wide range of systems and processes
Specific knowledge and practical experience in Robotic Systems – ideally surgical or clinical robotics
