Production Technician£28.00 per hour Umbrella6 Month ContractFarnboroughInside IR35 Advantage Resourcing are working with a leading Aerospace organisation who are looking for a skilled Electrical Production Technician on a site based 6-month contract. This role will sit within the operations team and will report to the operations manager. About the role:The High-Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) “Zephyr” is a new, and state-of-the-art, solar powered ultra-lightweight CFRP Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for use in both commercial and military applications from Defence and Space. A number of new roles are being created for Skilled Technicians inside the HAPS Operations team. Main tasks and responsibilities will include:Equipment assembly, test, installation, wiring and system integration of engineering platformsMaintain build recordsHealth and Safety process adherence and reportingSelf-certification of work completedContinuous Improvement of the production systemContribution to problem solving and corrective action deliverySafe handling and protection of very fragile and flexible components Required Skills & Experience:We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:Hands-on multi-skilled practical avionic/electronic engineering technicianExperience of hands-on production of hardware and wiring installationsDemonstrated experience / knowledge / delivery of product test phaseDemonstrated knowledge of aerospace or similar production/maintenance processes to high quality standardsAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and interpret requirements into finished productsConducting and recording of installation and system integration testsAbility to work flexibly as part of a teamDemonstrated experience pro-actively solving technical problemsQuality conscious working method and organised approach to tasksEnjoy using own initiative, working unsupervised and taking responsibility for own task packageEnjoy providing technical input and advice to design teams and peers on manufacturing procedures, issues and ideas for improvement QualificationsAcademic qualifications in an avionic/electronic engineering discipline and /or time served apprenticeship in avionic/electronic manufacture / installation / test or relevant equivalent experience
