Production Planner

SUMMARY – MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To plan and support the Paint line area of the business (Maternity Cover – Temp to Perm) We are ideally looking for an experienced Planner who can plan the current business requirements for the Paintline, but also bring new ideas and processes to the business to aid in improving how the planning departments function as a whole. KEY TASKS IN THIS ROLE: 1. To create daily production and booth plans within the small team of planners. To be responsible for the creation of the daily production plans in accordance to customers' orders and discuss with Production Controller / Department heads before release. 2. To maintain the integrity of the booking and production data in the Javelin system. 3. To assist in ensuring completed orders are closed and all relevant materials and labour have been correctly kitted and allocated. Using reports to identify booking errors and correcting the works orders 4. To amend bookings and assist production staff with MRP related queries. 5. To be responsible for the generation of works orders for the shop floor. 6. To liaise with the Material Handlers to ensure relevant materials are in place to support each plan. 7. To liaise with the Customer Liaisons in order to meet customer requirements and to assist with information relating to customers deliveries. 8. Ensure any component shortages from other areas of the business are fulfilled before despatch dates 9. To assist in the development of KPI reports with the Production Controller. 10. To attend daily planning meetings and calculate daily plan adherence. 11. To understand the importance of accurate planning, timings, bookings and stock control. 12. Any specific task as agreed by the Production Controller.

1. Formal Education/Qualifications GCSE's – Grades A-C in at least 5 subjects including English and Maths. 2. Experience: Ideally a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Production Planning role. Previous knowledge of planning a Paintline would be a strong advantage, but not essential. Understanding on how MRP systems function would also be an advantage. 3. Knowledge/Skills: Computer literate Microsoft – Word, Excel, Power point, outlook Etc.. Fully conversant with the principles of MRP II Systems Strong Numeracy and Literacy required. Concepts of stock management. Concepts of quality control Must be capable of working well as part of a team or individually. 4. Supervisory responsibility: Production Controller 5. Communication with others: Able to liaise with customers customer liaison , and other department heads The ability to communicate concisely and professionally either verbally or via email. 6. Authority (Budgets, Resources etc): N/A 7. Responsibility for confidential Information: N/A 8. Travel: Possibly between sites 9. Working conditions: As per contract
