Principal Electronics Engineer – Analogue & Digital

We are looking for a highly technical Principal / Senior Electronics Engineer to join one of the UK's leading engineering & product design consultancies based in Cambridge. As a Principal Electronics Design Engineer, you will work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, leading the development of large, complex, R&D projects. Typical applications cover advanced sensing, robotics, industrial automation and consumer electronics which involve the full range of electronic design skills – digital, analogue, mixed-signal, power/PSU and occasionally RF.

This is a highly varied and stimulating role which will allow you to significantly develop your career with a highly respected, award winning international company. Working closely with project managers you will take full responsibility for delivering projects from product strategy to manufacture within the agreed time and budget constraints. These are highly complex R&D programmes that often have to surmount considerable technical challenges. In addition to hands-on electronics design, you will also assist the Sales & Business Development teams to develop new business opportunities around the world.

Job Requirements:

An excellent degree in Electronics engineering or similar
A proven track record in the successful delivery of broad range of electronic designs, including analogue and digital electronics, PCBs and functioning prototypes
Experience of managing risk and timeline on development projects with considerable novel content
A background in product development from concept through to launch including scale up and transfer to manufacture
Ideally, experience of design for manufacture, test, cost and reliability
