Transport Supervisor – PM shifts

Rapier Employment has an exciting new job opportunity for our client based in Cowley, Oxfordshire. We are looking to recruit an Afternoon Supervisor with a shift pattern of 14:00-23:00. This will be a temp to perm role for the successful candidate. Offering a salary of £28,000 per annum.

The purpose of the role is to:

To provide an efficient & high quality service
To project a professional & courteous image to customers and the general public, at all times.
To ensure that Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times and that we are compliant in all operations.Description:

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:

Report to Transport Contract Manager
Management of 20+ drivers and transport clerk
Investigation and disciplinary hearings
Absence Management
Change Management
Implementing any new business / contracts
Monthly driver 1-2-1's
Driver performance and behavioural reviews
Assist in recruitment as necessary
Own the Employee Engagement of your team
Pro-active in looking for cost down opportunities
Cost monitoring
Checking and coding invoices
Payroll system – managing exceptions
Manual Planning of vehicles across varying classes
Management of 3rd party Hauliers and relationships
To allocate vehicles to the drivers run schedule.
Complete a daily handover with colleagues
Complete Driver Licence and CPC checks.
Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly on driver de-brief
Manage drivers according to Tachograph rules and regulations
Reporting damage to vehicles/company and customer property in line with company procedures.
Accident Investigations in line with company procedures
Follow correct procedures for defect reporting and rectifying equipment faults.
Understand Customer requirements
Answer Customer Queries via email and telephone
Tracking Vehicles and MPG.
Distributing and maintaining various KPI's on a daily basis.
Co-ordinating vehicle servicing and maintenance.

Profile:

The successful Transport Supervisor will:

Have 2+ years' experience of management or supervision within a busy transport office
Have a strong personality and character to successfully manage a team of drivers
Ideally have a Health & Safety Qualification (IOSH)
Microlise knowledge & experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
National and International CPC desirable
