An excellent opportunity has become available for an Manufacturing Engineer where you will realise the design and engineering requirements into a production process within the workshop area, delivering the optimum performance in terms of quality and cost whilst safeguarding the health and safety of the employees. To define processes, tools and systems that ensure the workshop operates in line with ISO standards regarding all work content completed in the area.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct evaluations for feasibility and cost for New Product Introduction (NPI) of low volume, high value products for manufacture within our Interior Trim Bespoke Studio.
  • Project management of Interior Trim Centre activities through entire NPI process including evaluation, engineering / development, industrialisation and launch.
  • Participate in design and engineering reviews, conduct risk-based evaluations of production processes and implement risk mitigations to streamline the delivery of new products and satisfy the defined quality standards.
  • Plan and deliver evaluation trials, prototypes, and initial trial batch production through to integration of a stable process capable of delivering the required volume output.
  • Perform and lead cross-functional problem-solving using DMAIC methodology.
  • Develop, improve and industrialise new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Lead purchasing and commissioning of new jigs, fixtures, tooling and equipment as defined by each project.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role preferably within automotive, aerospace or marine
  • Knowledge of NPI, APQP & Project Management.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Preferable ~ degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
