Maintenance Engineer – Multiskilled

Location: Derbyshire

Salary: £49,300 per annum + benefits

Shift – 4 on, 4 off (days and nights rotation)

Our client is a leading food manufacturer based in Derbyshire, they strive to be best and most respected company in their industry, and they need the best Engineers in the field to help them achieve this. We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for Multiskilled Engineers – to join the Engineering team at their large manufacturing site in Derbyshire. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption. You will play a key role in continuous improvement activity and projects.

The role:

  • Work collaboratively within the maintenance team to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of plant equipment.
  • Support in investigating means of improving plant productivity
  • Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials, and equipment are available.
  • Investigate and establish causes of all breakdowns and damages
  • Action any necessary repairs and ensure all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.
  • Be involved in both electrical/mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance.
  • Be proactive in ensuring good health and safety on site

You will need:

  • Fully time served apprenticeship or…
  • You will be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical Engineering, BTEC level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
  • Ideally, IEE qualification up to 17th edition Wiring Regulations
  • Ideally understand Electrical/Mechanical drawings (not essential)
  • Have a proven track record in an Engineering and fault-finding role gained from within a FMCG environment (Ideally Food Industry)
  • Have a good understanding of HACCP principles
  • Previous experience programming PLC (if electrical) is beneficial however not essential.
  • You will also possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate assertiveness and decision-making skills, and have a can-do attitude to your work.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
