An interim opportunity for a Head of Tax to join a well known Tech company on a 12 month assignment covering maternity leave. You will lead a team of 4 and report the tax affairs of the business, ensuring compliance across all taxes. Key responsibilities: Tax Compliance : Ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of corporation tax and indirect taxes. HMRC Interactions : Handle and resolve queries and inquiries from HMRC. Transfer Pricing : Review and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation. Business Advisory : Provide guidance on tax implications of business activities and changes. Senior Management Communication : Clearly articulate tax-related matters to senior management as needed. Employment Taxes : Coordinate with HR and payroll to address issues related to employment taxes. External Liaison : Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and efficiency. SAO Process Management : Oversee and update the quarterly Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) process. Budget Management : Oversee the tax department budget. Project Management : Lead and manage various tax-related projects as required. Financial Review : Review monthly financial journals and reconciliations for accuracy. Department Meetings : Lead weekly meetings within the tax department. R&D Claims : Work with external advisors to manage Research & Development (R&D) claims. Maintain HMRC Relationship : Foster and manage a productive relationship with HMRC. Team Leadership : Oversee a team of four, including two direct reports, and take charge of implementing the team’s structured development framework, with support from senior colleagues.
