We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join an engineering consultancy team in Leamington Spa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. If you are passionate about promoting workplace safety and have expertise in health and safety practices, please get in touch.Responsibilities:Promote a Safety Culture: Develop and maintain a positive health and safety culture within the organisation, ensuring that all employees understand and prioritise safety in their work.Compliance: Stay current with health and safety legislation and regulations, and ensure the company’s compliance. Provide guidance on regulatory changes and their implications.Policy Development; Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and programs that align with industry best practices and legal requirements.Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Work with relevant departments to address safety concerns.Training and Education Organise and deliver safety training programs and workshops for employees, promoting awareness and understanding of safety protocols.Incident Investigation: Lead or assist in the investigation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Analyse root causes and implement preventive measures.Documentation:Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and inspections. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.Emergency Response: Develop and test emergency response plans, ensuring employees are prepared for potential emergencies.Safety Audits:Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to assess compliance and effectiveness of safety measures.Qualifications and Skills:- Previous experience in a health and safety role is preferred.- Nebosh qualification is desirable.- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.- Problem-solving abilities.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Salary and Benefits:- Competitive salary up to £35,000.- Opportunity to make a significant impact on workplace safety.- Comprehensive benefits package.- Professional development and training opportunities.- Supportive and collaborative work environment.
