Graduate Design Engineer
Role: Graduate Design Engineer (Mechanical)
Location: Commutable of Crawley, Horsham, Dorking, East Grinstead, Brighton, Redhill and surrounding areas – those living in UK and willing to relocate will also be considered
Salary: £27,000 – £31,000 per annum plus benefits and progression opportunities
Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:45am till 5:15pm
We are on the look’out for a motivated Graduate Engineer who has completed a Degree in Engineering and looking for a career in Mechanical Design. Any work experience in a related field of design or manufacturing would be desirable but not essential. Someone who is proactive, keen to learn and apply themselves is most important.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a keen, enthusiastic person to join a busy Design and Development department. The successful applicant will be involved in a variety of duties.
These will include:
- Support existing products and design projects, making changes that best suit the clients requirements.
- Overseeing the testing of new products.
- Dealing with customer enquiries and mapping out project requirements.
- Development of new designs and products, involving testing, costings and liaising with suppliers.
- Manage and launching new product introductions into the factory.
- Combat design problems and look at creative ways on how they can be improved
- The design of new equipment for use in our own factory, and modifications to existing equipment in order to allow us adapt to the change in production requirements.
- Help with cost saving initiatives, looking at the manufacturability of the designs and consider other design solutions.
- Liaise with other departments including Production and Maintenance.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Design, Mechanical, Engineering or similar
- Any work experience in Design or Manufacturing or Industrial would be advantageous
- The applicant must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- A good working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel is required.
- Experience of Solidworks would be advantageous
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn and be proactive
- Strong communication and computer skills
- Good communication skills are required, both verbal and written, together with the ability to produce accurate engineering/production drawings.
