Your new role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Product Development Account Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include developing new products and enhancing existing programmes and products. Proficiency in CAD is essential, as you will be tasked with creating patterns and designs that meet customer specifications. You will ensure that all products conform to these specifications through meticulous First Article inspections. Additionally, you will attend training courses to maintain and enhance your skills, liaise professionally with other departments and external suppliers, and contribute to the overall success of the team. What you’ll need to succeed To excel in this role, you will need experience in Design Engineering or a similar discipline. Full proficiency in CAD is crucial to supporting its implementation within the company. While a basic knowledge of quality management systems is desirable, training will be provided. An excellent knowledge of computers, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, is essential. Your ability to read and understand technical drawings and develop them into working patterns will be key to your success. You will also need to effectively liaise with other departments and external suppliers in a professional manner.
