Our client is a leading provider of strategic market intelligence and consulting services to the global offshore renewable energy sector, from their modern and well- equipped Lowestoft offices.
We are recruiting a GIS Technician on their behalf, to assist the Research Team and Marine Advisors in their operations.
Convert and process project related spatial and non-spatial data according to GIS data models, applying quality control to the output.
Undertake ongoing update and maintenance of GIS data and GIS databases
Provide base level support to company GIS users
Produce plans for project- related queries
Provide input to the development and improvement of procedures
Monitoring the performance of the products and services provided by the GIS services.
Responsiveness dealing with supporting marine operations
Active involvement with the web GIS data in ArcGIS Enterprise/portal environment
Assist with making physical maps for various clients.
Customising GIS output to support the various client requirements
Meeting regularly with IT staff to coordinate interface and utilization of data within IT.
Ensuring the quality of GIS products and services (e.g., standards development).
1-2 years minimum of progressive experience in a GIS environment
1 years hands-on experience, working with Esri’s ArcGIS suite and preferably including Web GIS tools such as ArcGIS Portal / ArcGIS online
Knowledge and experience with GIS industry principles, theories and best practices
Knowledge of utility company functions like Geometric Networks and Linear Referencing
Ability to create reports or exports using SQL or other GIS tools
Ability to utilize and convert multiple GIS datasets with differing formats and coordinates
Experience with GIS mapping applications used for utility asset management
Understanding and experience using and manipulating databases
Attention to detail and well developed organisational skills
Bachelor’s Degree (in geography, GIS, cartography, planning, computer science or related field with an emphasis in GIS/GPS)
This is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary from £27,000 depending on experience.
25 days per year holiday (+ bank holidays).
