Competitive Salary – 37 hours per week – Permanent
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Income Advisor who will work within the Income team to collect and recover rental income. With responsibility for a group of customers, your main duties will include:
Contacting customers to discuss rent payments and agreeing terms for repayment of any arrears. On occasion, these discussions will require visiting customers’ homes.
Gaining an understanding of customers’ circumstances and providing or directing to appropriate internal or external welfare and support advice where appropriate.
Developing and maintaining close working relationships with tenancy and lettings departments and external agencies to provide a comprehensive service to customers, tailored to their individual circumstances.
Maintaining accurate records of all customer agreements and transactions
Where satisfactory agreements for repayment of debts cannot be reached, you will prepare all necessary records for court submissions
Educated to GCSE level, our ideal candidate will:
Have proven experience in a customer service environment, ideally a housing provider or other public service organisation
Be a confident communicator with good negotiation skills, diplomatic and assertive as required
Have good numerical and IT skills
Be organised, target driven and attentive to detail
Have knowledge of debt collection and agencies involved in the support of vulnerable customers
