Financial Controller – Manufacturing

Our client is a thirving SME business based in South Norfolk. A privately owned manufacturing business with a positive working culture and diligent approach.
Currently recruiting for a hands-on Financial Controller reporting to the Finance Director, managing the full finance function including a team of 4.
Key aspects of the role include:
Responsible for the statutory accounts and monthly management accounts
Responsible for the reconciliation of the balance sheet
Preparation of annual budgets
Fully accountable for departmental management, e.g. recruit, lead, motivate, appraise, supervise and where appropriate train staff.
Responsibility for the financial controls and governance including stock and fixed assets, to review such controls and resolve weaknesses
Business performance review and identify risks and opportunities
Responsible for cash flow forecasting
Responsible for forecasting and purchasing of currency requirements
Responsible for VAT
Head of payroll and responsible for PAYE, NIC and pensions
Corporation tax
Responsible for day to day banking activities and cheque signatory
Liaise with auditors and other external professional advisors
Support to the MD/Owner and local commercial teams to improve performance
Monthly presentation of performance, risks and opportunities to MD/Owner
To take a proactive role in the management of the business as part of the Senior Management Team
Project management of Finance/IT system from specification to purchase and implementation including business cases to board of directors and post implementation evaluation.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar role. Manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential. Personality wise this position is suited to someone with well-developed people skills, a high attention to detail and a positive, can-do approach
