Finance Manager

A manufacturing client of ours in the Stansted area are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their team. This is a full-time, office-based role working Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.45pm & Fridays, 8.30am – 3.30pm. This is paying a negotiable salary of £55,000 – £65,000 and requiring a fully qualified professional for the role.

Job Purpose:

This FM will report into the Director of Finance and manage/coordinate the daily accounting function for the business.
This includes mentoring the Accounting staff, responsible for Financial Closing, Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls. This individual will execute a variety of tasks to manage and coordinate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Accounts function.

Key Duties for this Finance Manager will include but are not limited to:

Develop business relationships with functional leadership team and act as a Finance Partner
Drive monthly financial close process ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are complete within corporate timelines
Upload monthly financial information to the Corporate HFM system and reconcile Trial Balances to the consolidated reports
Evaluate accounting policies and procedural control systems and work to improve effectiveness and compliance.
Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget and upload of all budget information into the HFM system
Coordinate the collection of all pertinent information required by the Corporate Tax Department
Multi-currency experience
Management of small accounting team (5 in total)
Preparation and reporting of management accounts
Analysis of financial results for management team, development of key performance indicators.
Investigating variances and monitoring results against budget.
Hands-on Management of balance sheets and supporting reconciliations
Preparation of cashflow forecasts and management of cashflow on a day-to-day basis.
Ensure correct management, control, and accounting procedures in the ERP software system
Oversee preparation of monthly payroll and ensure compliance with all matters relating to payroll including pensions.
Liaise with external accountants on preparation of the statutory accounts and general tax matters as required.
Oversee and manage internal and external reporting,
Manage ongoing analysis of revenue forecasts, cost structures and overhead base
Oversee the coordination of all regional reporting to the Group
Month end, Quarterly, and Annual reports
Monthly VAT returns and department of trade statistical returns
Monthly update of fixed assets registers in US and UK Gaap
Reconciliation and analysis of nominal ledger
Preparation of monthly accruals and pre-payments
Preparation of year end statutory accounts
Intercompany reconciliations and recharges
As an effective leader, encourage teamwork through open and honest communication with staff, setting targets and giving feedback progressively
Liaison with external auditors

Experience/Skills:

ACCA/CIMA Qualified
5-7 years related experience
Strong proficiency with office productivity applications (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Word, Adobe)
Experience with Microsoft ERP software and Hyperion Financial Management
Must be able to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously
Superior organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Experience of managing a small team (team size of 5 in this position)
