Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for an Electrical craft team member to work for our client TATA Steel in Port Talbot SA13.
This is a permanent full time position, paying a market competitive salary of £31707 per annum. You will be required to work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (Days)

As an Electrical Craft Team Member, you will perform preventative maintenance and inspection work, providing expertise and resources to identify and rectify faults in complex systems to ensure manufacturing continuity.
You'll be responsible for ensuring all activity is undertaken within Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and in compliance with company and legislative requirements. As an Electrical Craft Team Member you will be required to work as part of a team to ensure manufacturing performance on an ongoing basis, as well as supporting manufacturing development plans and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Providing engineering expertise & advice in order to diagnose and correct complex faults in the manufacturing process equipment.
Developing expertise and keeping up to date in maintenance techniques and equipment development applicable to a heavy manufacturing environment by self-study and attendance on appropriate courses.
Providing comprehensive reports on breakdowns, repairs and related engineering activities where appropriate recommending improvements to equipment or systems.
Undertaking training as required for new specialists, other engineering grades, and manufacturing teams.
Supervising Tata Steel or contract personnel and where necessary issue certificates of isolation as part of the safe system of work.
Being familiar with many specific, modern day electrical systems including PLC's, Drives, AC & DC motor circuitry and being able to read and interpret electrical wiring and schematic drawings.The Candidate
Applicants will be qualified to ONC level or higher, which will have normally been obtained through a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering or hold a Modern Apprenticeship certificate.
Be required to have relevant plant experience in electrical systems and be capable of supervising personnel in the safe execution of engineering repair work.
Must have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate.
Having the ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.
