Drainage/flood Engineer – Job Description

This role will be part of our clients' Environment Engineering team and will involve the following:

working on projects to enhance and protect the local environment, identifying sources of flooding and assessing the adverse impact;
advising on and providing solutions for mitigating the effects of such;
preparing and supporting business cases for works to protect from flooding;
developing outline and detailed designs for engineering flood projects including hydraulic systems, sewerage systems, flood defences, roads and ancillary structures etc;
assisting with project plans, determining work schedules, carrying out project audits;
carrying out inspection works;
assisting organisations to conduct their activities in an environmentally appropriate manner;
providing advice on regulatory and legislative standards, guidelines and policies;
working with local authorities and national environmentally based organisations.

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in Civil Engineering or another suitable related subject
Experience in preparing environmental business plans
Experience working on the feasibility and design of environmental flood projects
Experience carrying out and recording surveys
Commitment to obtaining chartership
Good team player with good communication skills (English)

Full time role;

Immediate start;

Locations = UK – North London, South Wales, Sheffield;

Hrs/week = 40hrs;

Salary Range depending on experience = £30-40k
