Position: Director of Finance

Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Coventry, UK (On-site)

Position Overview:

Our client, one of the leading organizations in the automotive manufacturing industry, is rapidly

growing. Their C-level management is in search of a sharp Director of Finance.

What will you be doing?

  • Compile consolidated financial statements by collecting and examining data from the general ledger system and various departments, followed by submission for review and final approval with minimal review comments on financials and projects.
  • Examine the data within financial statements and prepare supporting schedules for account balances.
  • Develop and supervise procedures and policies to ensure regular reporting of pertinent financial data while also identifying significant risks and opportunities to enhance business performance.
  • Produce monthly financial statements, cash flow projections, Net Income, and Contribution Margin analyses.
  • Evaluate actual financial results against budgeted figures and takes corrective measures when necessary.
  • Compile audit documentation for the annual audit and coordinate year-end activities.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial systems, including SAP, Onestream, and the Shipping system.
  • Lead the development of the Annual Business Plan.
  • Assist in preparing annual research and development claims for investment tax credits.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Collaborate with all departments to identify their financial information needs and ensure proper utilization of such data, actively participating in meetings.
  • Manage personnel within the Accounting and Administration department, overseeing functions such as accounts receivable, payables, inventory, fixed assets, office administration, human resources, and payroll.
  • Demonstrate fairness, leadership, and provides training to foster an efficient team.
  • Deliver insightful analysis to General Managers and the Group Office to support cost-saving initiatives at the facility.
  • Possess a comprehensive comprehension of system and actual costs, enabling the provision of insightful feedback to divisions and the Group office regarding cost fluctuations.
  • Actively pursue enhancements within the accounting department to elevate group performance.
  • Upholds a proficient understanding of safety protocols and regulations to ensure that both personal and team duties are executed in a secure manner.
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities as required

Must Haves:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in accounting or business administration
  • Completion of either CPA, ACCA, CA, or CIMA
  • 5+ years of experience in a related position, ideally in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • SAP experience
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and people skills
  • Effective financial analysis skills and commercial acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open to traveling within and outside of the UK as required
