Job Title – Control Room Supervisor (Silent Hours)

Salary & Benefits:

£10.50 per hour

28 Days Holiday (inclusive of Bank Holiday allowance)

Oakpark Security Operations Centre, Colchester, Essex, CO1 TX

Working Hours:

17:00 to 05:00 Five nights on – 3 Nights off.

Reporting To:

Lead Operations Manager / Operations Managers

Responsible for:

Control Room Operators, Supervisors, Mobile Officers and all uniformed personnel.

The Role:

We are recruiting for an SIA-Licensed Silent Hours Supervisor for our Control Room based in Colchester, Essex.

This is a busy role in which you be part of our Management team, overseeing the performance of our 24-Hour Control Room team.

Critically, the role will be to drive standards in a busy and Customer facing environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Be responsible for receiving a Daily briefing from the Duty Manager.

Be responsible for Supervising the effective operation of the Control Room whilst on shift.

Be presented in Company issued suit at all times.

Overseeing the response to telephone calls and e mails directed to the Control Room on each shift.

Deploying Security staff to sites/ Managing response to unplanned absence, including covering shifts if necessary.

Overseeing the allocation of response officers to security incidents and Alarm Activations.

Collation and submission of reports on critical incidents to the Management team using the reporting mechanisms available.

Preparing reports for the Operations Managers in case of Critical incidents.

Adhering to and amending where necessary Control Room Assignment Instructions in consultation with the Lead Operations Manager and/or Operations Manager.

Planning and organising your own daily/shift routines and activities

Maintain a safe and secure work environment for the employees.

Provide telephone support to the public and employees.

Keep Control Room and personal appearance in line with agreed protocols.

Carry out additional duties as required during emergencies.

Overseeing the Maintenance of various registers, issuing and receiving of keys.

Undertake additional training as required by the Company.

Taking ownership of KPIs relating to the Control Room performance.

Technology Skill Level

(Full Training will be Provided)

Operating and monitoring CCTV.

Familiarity with all MS suite documents an advantage.

Monitoring of various alarm systems

Have a sound knowledge of Security techniques

Knowledge of computer systems in operation within the Control Room.

Understanding of all alarm systems

Candidate Specification:

Applicants should have previous Supervisory and/or Management experience, preferably within the Security Industry.

Applicants should have a valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervision licence.

Applicants must be willing to undertake an SIA CCTV Licence once in post.

You will be comfortable under pressure and working in an environment in which operational requirements are subject to change at short notice.

Effective communication to the public, security staff, employees, and visitors.

Able to issue and receive detailed instructions both written and verbal.

The ability to record information accurately is critical to this role.

Must have the ability to build an effective team culture.

Must be able to lead a team toward achieving and exceeding service related KPI’s
