Civils Supervisor

Civils Supervisor (265se) – Longstanton, Cambridgeshire – Up to £50,200 pa.

My client, a leading infrastructure solutions provider are looking for 2 Civils Supervisors to be based in the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire areas.


Working alongside the project manager, your responsibilities will be ensuring the stated deadlines are met in a cost-effective quality way as well as supervising the gangs and ensuring they are following all relevant company procedures including H&S and quality audits.

The roles you are expected to undertake are varied and this is not an exhaustive list, but they include the completion of pre-site surveys and risk assessments to ensure the plans are feasible and to feed any potential risks or issues back to the project manager alongside the details of any specific permits required for the task in a timely manner.

You will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day undertakings of the site including the provision and use of the appropriate PPE, ensuring you have the right people in the right place with the right competency qualifications and escalating any problems that can potentially compromise delivery back to the PM.

You will be expected to ensure the ordering of any specific tools or equipment to ensure project dates are met.

This will be coupled with a certain level of administration including the regular reviewing of site risk assessments and taking the appropriate action to minimise risk, as well as feeding back any deviation to the estimates, ensuring the information regarding gang/crew overtime, sickness, holiday etc is fed back in a timely manner and complying with geosite process.

You must hold a valid NRSWA Streetworks supervisor card, with first aid and SSSTS desirable as well.

You will need to have impeccable time management and organisational skills combined with the ability to not only work in a fast paced environment but also deal with your own workload including conflicting priorities.

You will need to be able to command respect, communicate both with colleagues and clients, and both give and take instruction in a constructive manner.

You will need to be able to de escalate conflict in an appropriate and productive manner, have strong IT skills and be an effective communicator.

In return, my client is offering a salary of up to £50,200 DOE and a benefits package that can be discussed at interview.
