We are looking for a Membership and Grants Officer to join our team
Are you a great communicator, with first-class organisational skills, and experience of using Excel and Mailchimp?
The role involves growing and supporting our membership, managing our small grants, supporting our communications work and assisting with events that combat loneliness and social isolation.
Experience of working within a membership organisation and administering grants would be helpful but training will be provided.
The Membership and Grant Officer’s role is to develop and promote the membership offer to carers, ensuring continuous growth in the numbers of members. It includes supporting communications and marketing activities across the service, including website and social media development, production & distribution of organisational and service literature.
Managing the Carers Group Grant within Carers Matter Norfolk, processing applications, facilitating carer-led panels and undertaking all administrative tasks required (communications, arranging payments, monitoring and evaluation). Delivering outreach events and activities to combat loneliness and social isolation.
Contract type: Post is offered until 30th September 2020
Salary: £19,500 to £24,400 (depending on experience) 37 hours, pro rata (£13,966 – £17,475 actual)
Hours: Part time – 26.5 hours per week

Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney is a partner within the Carers Matter and Better Together Norfolk service. Carers Matter is the funded county-wide support service for unpaid carers and Better Together is the funded combatting loneliness and social isolation service.
This position will be based at Voluntary Norfolk, St Clements House Colegate, 2-16 Colegate, Norwich, Norfolk, NR3 1BQ.

Experience and Qualifications
Educated to A Level (Level 3) standard or equivalentCoordinating / promoting organisational events
Creating promotional material/ or supporting communication campaigns
Database management (Excel, or similar)
Creating professional social media content
Handling confidential and sensitive information (Data Protection Act 2018 & GDPR compliance)
Using content management systems (CMS) and CRM database systems. E.g. WordPress, Charitylog
Volunteering/ working with service users / carers / lived experience of Caring
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject e.g. English, Communication, Journalism, or Social Science
Knowledge & Skills
Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills: written and verbal
Copy writing (creating accurate content tailored to target audiences, print and online)
IT Literate: use of Mailchimp (or ENewsletter software), (Microsoft Office Suite)
Ability to work under pressure, prioritising and managing conflicting workloads
Knowledge of the health and social care system / issues affecting carers and the people they care for
Ideas for increasing membership
Reliable, professional and able to work as part of a team
Diplomacy: able to handle sensitive and confidential information
Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks and work
Self-motivated: ability to work independently and show initiative
Occasional work during evenings and/or weekend (attending events)
Ability to travel throughout Norfolk
Current driving license and use of a car
Holiday entitlement: Starting at 25 days per annum, increasing with length of service up to 28 days per annum (pro rata for part time employees), plus designated bank holidays (pro rata for part time employees).
