Overview:

We are searching for a strong, experienced and versatile food retail Business Development Manager, BDM, for a client based in the UK (England). This is a new business role looking at new ventures and new areas to capitalise the businesses offering with clients UK wide and potentially over seas. This is not an Account Manager role and although there may be some existing accounts the focus of this role is most definitely centred on new business.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing new business opportunities through targeting potential new clients, researching their status and needs prior to approaching. These clients will be centred on retail food clients with a focus on fixtures and fittings. As mentioned there may be some requirements with existing accounts within the business more generally to offer this solution. As one would expect you will also be tasked with attending networking events both virtually and in person when the climate permits.

As with most business development roles you will be required to work to KPIs and targets to achieve and excel performance standards. You will be a natural business developer with strong communication skills and a natural rapport, combined with exceptional presentation skills and strong knowledge of the sector.

Requirements:

• A solid background within retail fixturing preferably with a focus on food retail combined with a good network of connections to support this area of industry.

• An understanding of all aspects of food retail fixtures and merchandising ideally fixture manufacturing.

• Proactive and driven, a natural ‘door opener’ with a proven history of developing new business.

• Able to develop and maintain key operational relationships within the business, based on mutually agreed deliverables

• A Positive “can do” attitude is essential, with a diligent attitude to ensuring we deliver what we promise
