Role Purpose:

The Treasury Manager is accountable for all aspects of the cash management function, including the development and management of systems for the accurate and effective forecasting of all receipts and payments.

Responsible for managing a treasury assistant to ensure cash processing, reconciliation, reporting and forecasting are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with policy, regulations and debt restrictions.

Key Accountabilities:

Daily Cash:

Review and track cash flow positions by account, pool and debt platform to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements and are managed within approved limits.

Anticipate any potential breaches to covenants or overdraft limits and escalate efficiently and robustly

Arrange internal transfers, deposit of surplus funds and request debt draw down as required.

Correctly record all treasury transactions in treasury management software (TMS) including cash receipts, payments, transfers, deposits, loan draw downs and fx deals.

Cash Forecasting:

Work with all areas of the business, taking account of business projections, to accurately forecast all cash inflows and outflows up to 12 weeks in advance.

Develop and maintain a working capital model for the business that can support the business budgeting and forecasting needs over a 12 month horizon.

Reconcile and investigate variances to forecast cash flow in order to constantly improve the accuracy of forecasting and anticipate impacts on working capital restrictions.

Maintain rolling medium and long-term cash flow forecasts by debt platform and for Group.

Produce variance analysis, investigate and work with various teams to drive cash conscious culture and continuous improvement of cash and net debt forecasting.

Support treasury input into the Group’s general financial budgeting and forecasting processes including preparation of Group cash flows

Foreign Exchange

Monitor foreign currency cash requirements and forecast based on payment history and input from Procurement.

Propose new hedging transactions to meet requirements.

Execute foreign exchange deal following approval and record accurately in TMS.

Check all payment requests by 3rd parties for Treasury transactions match against documentation

Accurately prepare all loan / deposit related payments, supporting documentation and seek appropriate signatures.

Debt payment management (including quarterly payments and reporting).

Prepare and deliver treasury reports (cash balances, cash projections, periodic debt reporting) for period end.Assist with project assignments and financial reporting as required.

Maintenance of electronic banking systems.

Ensure that the TMS accurately reflects all “static” data of bonds, swaps, debt facilities and counterparty data.

Monitoring and managing the organisation’s bank relationships including bank account and mandate management, LEI & EMIR documentation.

Complete a review of all cash management documentation for new and existing department processes; prepare correspondence and proposals for cash management.

Drive improvements in cash management and establish/maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose the appropriate level of control over treasury activities.

Liaising with senior management across the organisation as necessary.

Management of a Treasury Assistant.

Providing preparation and review support for the group VAT returns.

Certified Cash Manager or Certified Treasury Professional

Minimum 3 years’ treasury and cash management experience in a large UK corporate

Understanding of treasury markets & products – including transactional banking, management of cash & liquidity, FX, corporate bonds and Interest Rate Swaps

Experience with cash flow forecasting

Experience of using treasury management systems

Working knowledge of at least one major Accounting Software or integrated accounting package.

Knowledge of banking relationships and covenants”
