Gratis Jobs Northampton – your source for full or part-time jobs

There aren’t many of us who have not been affected in some way by the pandemic. However, with Freedom Day coming soon, we can start looking to new beginnings and better times ahead.

As part of this, you may be looking for either a full-time or part-time job in Northampton.

Here are some tips on how to successfully find a new job.

  1. Where should you search? Sites like Indeed and Monster are popular, but sometimes this can work against you. It can be hard to get noticed amongst so many applicants. Try using an employer’s website to see what jobs they have and, if possible, be sure to call and ask about the role. This way you’ll make a connection and increase the chances of having your application reviewed.
  2. Keep your CV up to date and make sure it’s relevant to the role…yep, there are still people who don’t do this, so it needs to be said, despite being so obvious.
  3. Rethink your cover letter. The purpose of a cover letter has changed. Before the internet, a long cover letter was necessary to explain who you are, what role you are applying for etc. Now though, keep it simple and short and use it to entice the employer to open your cv or application. E.g. “I am applying for the role of ‘insert job role’. My 5 years of experience and ‘insert relevant skillset’ make me a strong candidate. I have attached my CV for your review. I would appreciate it if you consider me for this role or any other similar roles in your company.”
  4. When you get to the interview stage, make sure you prepare. Research the company, look at their values and ethics and think of interesting questions to ask them. Practice your answers to popular interview questions and make sure your personality shines through along with your confidence.

We hope that helps you with your job search. We currently have several part-time and full-time jobs in Northampton – please check out our jobs board here.
